Weekly Overtime Breakdown

This calculator treats overtime multipliers as weekly thresholds. Hours up to the first threshold earn the base rate, the next band uses the OT1 multiplier, and anything beyond the second threshold (when provided) earns OT2. If the second threshold is lower than the first, we automatically swap them to keep calculations valid.

  • Hours per week include paid breaks but exclude unpaid breaks.
  • Premium percentages apply to the combined regular and overtime pay.
  • If total weekly hours are zero, all pay outputs return zero.

FAQ

What counts as paid vs unpaid breaks?

Paid breaks count toward your worked hours and overtime thresholds. Unpaid breaks do not. Enter them separately so the tool can reduce your eligible hours before applying overtime rules.

How are overtime multipliers applied?

Each overtime tier multiplies the base hourly rate by the chosen factor (e.g., 1.5× or 2×). The tool calculates regular hours up to the first threshold, then applies OT1 to hours between thresholds, and OT2 beyond that if configured.

Why might results differ from local laws?

Labor rules vary widely by country and industry. This calculator provides informational estimates only. Always confirm the applicable regulations and company policies for your jurisdiction.
